COVID-19 Services update

In accordance with the Victorian Government’s announcement of easing of restrictions, we are pleased to be reopening all Glen Eira Leisure facilities from Thursday 18 February.

Capacity limits and procedures remain as they were prior to the closure.

Swimming lessons recommenced on Thursday 18 as scheduled.

Please remember to wear a mask in the centres unless exercising or swimming.

Swimming lessons change of procedures February 2021

Due to the combination of COVID restrictions and the huge demand for our swimming lessons, we are making the following changes to our procedures:

  • New adult to child ratio of 1:1 - Please bring only one supervising adult per child.
  • Features in the Pirates Cove Leisure area will be turned off during swimming lesson times.
  • 1 hour limit for recreational swimming - we encourage you limit your recreational swimming to 1hr (before or after) your swimming lesson.
  • Please remember to wear a mask and check-in prior to arriving at GESAC via this link
  • 25m pool will NOT be available for lap swimming during weekend swim school classes (Saturday & Sunday 8:30am - 12:30pm), the 50m pool is available for lap swimming during this time.

Glen Eira Leisure facilities have opened in line with eased restrictions with modified operations.  We recommend you read the below summary of changes to our services to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit.

Daily Closure Times for Deep Clean 

The facilities are closed for a deep clean during the following times:

The Daily Kitchen Café at GESAC is operating at reduced hours and reduced seating capacity.

Swimming lessons recommence on Wednesday 27 January. The LTS pool will be unavailable during swim school times weekdays 3pm – 7pm and weekends 8am – 1:30pm. The 25m pool will NOT be available for lap swimming during weekend swim school classes (Saturday & Sunday 8:30am - 12:30pm), the 50m pool is available for lap swimming during this time.

Spa, Sauna and Steam Room

Capacity limits apply:  Spa – 5, Sauna – 3 and Steam Room – 3

Opening Hours:

Weekdays:  6:00am – 2pm (closed 2pm – 3pm) and 3pm – 6:45pm

Weekends:  7:00am – 1:30pm (closed 1:30pm – 2:30pm) 2:30pm - 5:45pm

Session Times:  15-minute sessions on the half hour and hour. Area will be closed for cleaning after each 15-minute session. Doors will remain open during cleaning for health and safety reasons.

Booking System: bookings are essential – to make a booking, speak to the Aquatic Concierge in the wellness area, provide your full name, mobile number and requested facility (spa, sauna or steam).

At the time of your session, please see the Aquatic Concierge who will tick your name off and allow entry.

Booking conditions:

  • No back to back bookings allowed in the same facility.  (You can book for the spa then steam, but not consecutive spa and then spa sessions)
  • Bookings cannot be made more than 1 hour in advance.
  • No phone bookings will be accepted.

Capacity Limits - Practice Social Distancing

It is important to practice social distancing of 1.5 metres.  Each facility area has reduced capacity and the one person per 4-square metre rule is in place inside.  If an area or the facility reaches capacity, the lock out procedure will be followed. Please follow floor markings and follow any directions from Glen Eira Leisure staff. Each area is signed with a maximum number of patrons.

Lost Property

Unclaimed items will be held for 7 days. If we consider an item to be of significant value, like a wallet or a phone, it will be held for a limited time before it is handed over to authorities.

To avoid disappointment please take care of your personal belongings. Glen Eira Leisure does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to any personal belongings, regardless of the value.

COVID -19 Register/ QR code Check In Prior to Entry

Prior to entry, completion of the COVID-19 Register is required.  A staff member will meet you at the entrance to check you have completed your QR / COVID-19 check-in. Please allow additional time for your visit to complete your check in.


It is mandatory for all persons to wear a mask when entering a Glen Eira Leisure facility. This requirement will be enforced until the direction is lifted by DHHS.

Masks must be worn when moving around the facility - including to and from your exercise or program space. Masks do not need to be worn when performing high intensity exercise or swimming


The preferred payment option is tap and go and EFTPOS to minimise touch points.

No Shared Swimming and Gym Equipment

Swimming Equipment such as kickboards, noodles and pull buoys are not available for loan due to health reasons. Please bring your own if you require it to swim or equipment is available for purchase from the GESAC retail store.
Gym equipment such as mats, bolsters, yoga blocks and yoga straps are not available. Please bring your own equipment and mats for yoga and stretching.

Healthy Hygiene Habits

Additional sanitiser stations are available throughout the facilities, additional cleaning is scheduled, and we remind patrons to wash hands before your workout, wipe down equipment after use and continue healthy hygiene habits.

Reactivate your Membership

Membership are available to access to our gym, group fitness and aquatic services.  You can now reactivate your membership or sign up for a new membership via our online member portal.

The member portal allows you to manage your account, suspend your membership and update your direct debit details. In the future, this is where you will book your group fitness classes too.

We understand that these are stressful times for all members of our community, however we must ensure that our facilities are a safe and an enjoyable place for all members, guests and staff.

We acknowledge that rules have had to change to accommodate COVID-19 safety measures and this has placed pressure on access to certain areas of our facility.

We ask that everyone follows the direction of staff when in our facilities and that staff and fellow patrons are always treated with respect .
