Swim School re-opening

We are very excited to announce that swimming lessons will recommence at GESAC. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we will be running a modified four-week program commencing from the week beginning Monday 23 November.

Bookings open Friday 13 November at 5pm and close Sunday 22 November, unless sold out prior.

Enrolments will be charged at an upfront rate of $84 for the four weeks, paid at the time of booking.

Class times are limited, so we recommend enrolling quickly. See our FAQs below for full details on class times and book via the bookings link.

At this stage, bookings can only be made by current members who are between the ages of three and 12. Depending on demand, we may have opportunities for new members to join and under three classes to commence, so please fill in the expression of interest form below.

Please Note: Swim school membership fees will NOT be charged for members who do not wish to enroll into the four-week program.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Glen Eira Leisure Swim School soon.

When are lessons running?

The program will run for a block of 4 weeks starting the week of Monday 23 November, with one lesson per week. Simply select the class time you would like and complete the enrolment forms. Our team will then ensure you are placed in the appropriate level on your first lesson.

Can anyone book in for swimming lessons?

At this stage, bookings can only be made by current members who are between the ages of three and 12. Depending on demand, we may have opportunities for new members to join so please express your interest by completing the form on this page.

Why can’t I book my infant into the program?

Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions and the needs of the broader community we don’t have access to all aquatic facilities and therefore cannot run all levels of our program at this stage. We are taking expressions of interest for those under the age of three. Please fill in the form on this page.

How do I book?

Bookings can be taken from Friday 13 November at 5pm via the following link. The lesson day and time you book for will be the same each week. Bookings will close Sunday 22 November.

What lesson times are available?

Lessons run for 30 minutes and start at the following times:

Monday to Friday:

  • 4:00pm
  • 4:45pm
  • 5:30pm
  • 6:15pm

Saturday and Sunday:

  • 9:15am

What information do I need to book?

Your contact information, including your name, mobile phone and email address. At the time of booking, it is important to provide the information of the parent/guardian who will be attending with your child.

Do I need to complete a separate booking for each child?

No, all children can be booked in one transaction.

How much does it cost?

The total cost for the four week program is $84 and this is paid at the time of booking through Trybooking.

Can I book for less than four weeks?

You do need to commit to the full four week program.

Can I get a refund if my child is sick or we change our mind?

Yes, if your child is sick, however other reasons will be considered on a case by case basis.

Are we able to swim before or after our lesson?

Unfortunately, we cannot allow patrons to swim recreationally before or after their lesson due to restrictions and time constraints.

How many parents and non-swimming children can accompany the child having a lesson?

One parent per child attending the lesson will be permitted in the centre. Other children are allowed where no other care is available for them, however only the student enrolled is able to swim.

Do we have access to the change rooms?

No, the change facilities will not be available. We recommend coming ready to enter the water and bring a towel or dressing gown to wrap your child in when leaving. Toilet facilities will be available.

How will I know if my child is in the correct level?

We will start your child in the level they had been in previously.  During the first lesson, we will ensure they are in the correct level and move them if required.

Can I change my child’s class time during the four weeks?

Please choose your class time carefully when you are booking as this will be the same for the duration of the four week program. Due to demand and restrictions on numbers, we may not have availability at another time once the program has started.

Will my child be moved up a level if they achieve all the skills required?

If we have room, we will be able to move your child up a level.  However, our teachers are trained to teach multiple levels and can extend the skills of your child if there is no class available in the higher level.

What do I need to bring to the lesson?

We recommend bringing your towel, goggles, swim cap, and a dressing gown for an efficient exit.

Are masks required to be worn whilst in the Aquatic area?

As part of our COVID-Safe Plan, any person over the age of 12 must always wear a face mask when in the centre.  We understand that this may be uncomfortable in the Aquatic area, however this is a non-negotiable and will be enforced by staff, so please consider this before booking.
