Ready Steady Go Kids

Ready Steady Go Kids are Australia’s largest multi-sport and exercise program for pre-schoolers aged 1.5 - 6 years and have been running at GESAC since opening.

About the classes

Classes are structured to build the confidence to “have a go” - even if we are not good at something the first time, we can improve over time!  We focus on listening skills and comprehending instructions, developing gross motor skills and mixing with other kids their own age to share equipment and make sure everyone has a turn.  Over two terms, your child will leave the basics of 10 different sports.

The program objectives are as follows:

  • Introduce pre-schoolers to a variety of sports in a structured, safe, inclusive and non-competitive environment.
  • Show pre-schoolers that sport and physical activity are fun, thus developing a lifelong passion for exercise.
  • Develop and enhance age-appropriate gross motor skills, coordination and correct posture.
  • Introduce and reinforce the importance of warm-up and stretching to help prevent injuries, and proper hydration.
  • Teach the importance of good sportsmanship and teamwork.
  • Decrease childhood obesity.
  • Increase each child’s confidence.
  • Prepare children for school and participation in the broader community.
