Seniors Festival

As part of the Glen Eira Seniors Festival, all our group exercise classes listed below are completely free throughout October! It’s the perfect time to try something new, reconnect with your health goals, and meet others in the community. No experience needed, just book into any of the free classes below and get involved this October!

Seniors Festival at Glen Eira Leisure

This year's theme being Connect Create Celebrate we are encouraging our community to explore new activities, meet new people, and enjoy the benefits of staying active and engaged. Whether you're trying something new or returning to a favourite class, there's something for everyone. 

Why get involved? 

Glen Eira Leisure offers a variety of Group Fitness classes designed for every body in the community. These sessions help improve fitness, strength, mobility, and balance and they’re a fantastic way to connect with like-minded people in a welcoming environment.

Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool (CMSP) Classes

Chair Yoga (Chair Yogalates) 

  • When: Tuesdays, 8.30am–9.15am 
  • Dates: 7 October – 28 October 
  • Description: Gentle blend of yoga and Pilates using a chair for support. Ideal for beginners to improve mobility, strength, posture and balance. 
  • Cost: Free 

 

Activate Strength 

  • When: Thursdays, 10.30am–11.15am 
  • Dates: 9 October – 30 October 
  • Description: Functional movement class for older adults to improve strength, balance, coordination, and bone density. 
  • Cost: Free 

 

Zumba Gold 

  • When: Fridays, 8.30am–9.15am 
  • Dates: 10 October – 31 October 
  • Description: Fun, energising dance fitness class for active adults. 
  • Cost: Free 

Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) Classes

Tai Chi 

  • When: Thursdays, 7.05am–7.50am 
  • Dates: 9 October – 30 October 
  • Description: Gentle exercises promoting harmony between mind and body, mental awareness, and wellbeing. 
  • Cost: Free 

 Coffee with a Cop 

  • When: Tuesday 14 October, 11am–12pm 
  • Description: Chat with local police about community safety over a free coffee. 
  • Cost: Free 
  • No booking required 

Chair Pilates 

  • When: Fridays, 11.40am–12.25pm 
  • Dates: 10 October – 31 October 
  • Description: Modified Pilates to improve core strength, mobility, and balance. 
  • Cost: Free
